Department Manager, Projects

Our affiliated company, Triton Electric & Automation Pte Ltd, have an open position of Department Manager, Projects.

For this position, Triton is looking for a business oriented candidate that is well-connected within the shipbuilding and electrical engineering industry.

You will be a part of a relatively small but fast-growing and dynamic organization that specializes in the design, operations, and refit projects of passenger ships in the offshore and cruise market.

 

Responsibilities for this position:

  • To develop new business in the sense of winning projects for the department: acquisition, handling tenders and maintaining relations with customers.
  • Formulate monthly reports with finance, sales forecast and market information for the directors.
  • Human resource management
  • Ensuring the department is working in accordance with the company guidelines, smooth and efficiently.
  • Occasionally step in as project manager on projects, high-level involvement in the high-risk projects.
  • Deal with contracts and subcontractors.
  • Leading procurement of materials and equipment for the projects.

  • You live in Singapore and want to stay here for the coming years, but you don’t mind travelling out occasionally for projects.
  • In at least one of the following skills you have extensive experience: Electrical engineering, commissioning or project management of electric systems on board of ships.
  • Daily commute to Sembawang
  • When need, you like to occasionally work hands-on in projects on site.
  • You can work independently once objectives are clear.

You shall feel comfortable working in and outside of the office, on- or offline with the aid of office tools such as Microsoft Office 365, Dropbox, etc.

Project Engineer, Electrical

One of our affiliated companies, Triton Electric & Automation Pte Ltd, have an open position.

In the role of Project Engineer, Triton is looking for an electrical engineer with good understanding, relevant training, and experience with electrical power and automation systems on board of ships.

You will be part of a relatively small but fast-growing organization that specializes in the design, operations, and refits of passenger’s vessels in the offshore and cruise market.

Responsibilities for this position:

  • Support manager with specifications, estimations and technical evaluation of tenders
  • Basic and detailed engineering for electrical systems
  • Interfacing on third party and subcontractors work scopes. These can be technical as well as managing roles.
  • Attend FAT’s and liaising with applicable Class societies
  • Inquire prices for materials and equipment. Commercial and technical evaluation of quotations.
  • Prepare shipments and shipment documentation
  • Supervise installation works on site
  • Commissioning of systems
  • To be in charge of the documentation, filing, and reporting for the projects.

This position will require the candidate to be energetic and to adapt to requirements of the customers and the market continuously. A flexible approach supported by broad experience is required. We offer a basic salary and a monthly bonus based on project outcome and invoiceable works. The nature of our projects is highly intense periods which will be recognized, and the employee will be given the opportunity to balance these out during the quieter periods.

Electrical Superintendent

Summary Description

Electrical Superintendent

Our affiliated company, Poseidon Maritime Services have an opening for an experienced Electrical Superintendent. Position is based in Macae, Brazil.  Electrical Superintendent will be responsible for all electrical, automation and control systems of a DP2 accommodation vessel under charter for Brazilian state owned oil company. The position is offered on permanent basis international contract. The role is office-based and will also require frequent visits offshore, onboard of the vessel.

Reports to:               Technical Superintendent

Experience:             Relevant experiences in Marine & Offshore industry.

Liaise with:              Company management, crew, Engineers, Suppliers and /or Third Party Companies when required.

Job Tasks

  • Responsible for the Electrical aspects of vessels while working in close cooperation with the technical team in Singapore.
  • Provide technical support to the crew on board and liaise with system suppliers and service providers
  • Lead a team of crew/contractors/technicians/workers in diagnosis, maintenance and installation works on board vessel
  • Approves and verifies the technical details of ship requests for spares, service and consumable within area of responsibilities, issuing shore side requests of materials and services if needed
  • To constantly follow up on procurement and delivery of critical spares, regularly update the crew on the same
  • Evaluate electrical technical/ engineering requirements of the repairs/upgrading/servicing work
  • Liaise with contractors, Class and owners on technical issues
  • Resolve issues on-site
  • Conduct risk assessment of projects and operations on-site
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and work productivity
  • Co-operates with Ship’s Manager, Safety Environmental and QA Group during review of new Safety Regulations that might require modification and the preparation of plans for modification/updates to be implemented

Qualifications

  • Previous working experience as an electrical superintendent is a perquisite for this position
  • Minimum of 10 years working experience with electrical propulsion and DP vessel knowledge
  • The candidate must have formal electrical / automation educating from a known education institute.
  • Previous working experience in Brazil and ability to speak Portuguese is a clear benefit.
